#5 Is it easy to create worlds?

At the time of the greatest oblivion, the universe was shimmering with cold starlight
obeying the silent darkness which covered every single piece of matter,
But once, Arcane – the Godness – breathed life into one world among others
filling it with the iridescent light of stars and quite singing of planets.
In the cold abyss of space, the pearl heart of a far galaxy start beating in a lively temper
The new era of awakening has come and Unny was born!

It seems to be very simple to come up with a story. Create an ambience, add some characters, items, actions, give everything a name and that’s it, the new world is ready! At first glance it’s extremely simple but when you start to write down all ideas and combine them in a narrative you will be in trouble.
Suddenly you find that one character lacks incentive and motivation, and one event doesn’t fit in the overall picture, and another action looks really ridiculous. That’s the moment when the whole world becomes moldering and shaky and then it collapses like a cardbox house.

#3 How to create beatiful water for a mobile game?

I’ve always kept saying that game developers are one of the best liers. You think you see water, fire or something else… If only you knew what is inside for real, it would definetely make you laugh. Several days ago I spoke with Matthew Bell – technical artist from Ubisoft. He told us that he was developing water for Assassin Creed. It pushed me to share my experience of developing water for our game. Bearing in mind that our game is mobile first of all, and that everything is happening in a Fantasy world, we set the goal to develop water, simple enough to be drawn fast, but also looking good. I need to warn you that this article is not technical. It’s for those who want to know a little more about how miracles happen in the game dev industry.

#2 The beginning

Good morning! Glad to see you among our readers.

My name is Pavel Ignatov. I’m going to share with you a small story about the idea of the game behind the screen.

A lot of people dream about creating their own MMO game. But people who dare to start developing such game either professionals or total newbies. In the first case people know what they are doing, meanwhile in the second case they just don’t realize how hard it’s going to be. I was developing my own MMO game when I was studying at high school. As a result there was nothing even close to an accomplished game. Anyway, I don’t regret about that. I got tons of experience, but for the next several years I wasn’t even thinking about huge projects. I was focused on short games only.
